Pandemic

They call it contagious but I don't believe, in anything these days. The air is pretty thick around here, and I can barely breathe. That's normal, the new normal They say we can't go outside, shelter in place, to sit and hide. and that's normal, the new normal It's just not fair, something's not right. We've never been locked down this tight, what is happening? Whats in the air? All the tears that I stored up for years, came pouring down like boiling spears. All the emotion that I kept in a safe, like a mask with words that I paint on my face. No one's clean, no one's divine, shake my hand, you know I'm fine. Can't take it, there's no more love, here's your money, better wear your gloves. grandma's down, and she's down in a hole, and there's no heaven, 'cause I've been told. Nothing is, the way that it was, we can pay the bills with an ounce of blood. Evil is what evil does, sign my name in that blood in the mud. Trade gold for some gel and a mask, and even too, this will pass. For normal. The new normal.
